Grupo Purhembe de Michoacán, México


P’urhembe es el nombre de uno de los mejores grupos de cámara de Michoacán y de México, su repertorio es relevante no sólo por su magnitud, sino por la calidad interpretativa con que sus integrantes lo ejecutan. El ensamble tiene el sello de un continuo estudio y dedicación que le ha dado su fundador, el Mtro. Francisco Bautista Ramírez, originario de Paracho, Michoacán, cuya pasión musical tiene como primer objetivo el investigar la música de su tierra natal para proyectarla a todos los escenarios del mundo. 

El Mtro. Francisco Bautista, director del grupo, es un experimentado músico que ha logrado llevar con orgullo la música p’urhepecha a lugares tan lejanos como China, donde se presentó en el gran Palacio del Pueblo de Pekín por distinción presidencial, así como en varios países de Europa y África, asimismo, ha recibido notables reconocimientos como el Premio Estatal de las Artes Eréndira 2006, otorgado por el Gobierno del Estado de Michoacán, el cual patentiza una fructífera trayectoria en el ámbito de las artes tradicionales. Actualmente, Bautista Ramírez es asesor musical del Ballet Folklórico de Michoacán y profesor de violín de la Casa de la Cultura de Morelia.

A manera de un legado paterno, el Grupo P’urhembe se ha convertido en un prolífico representante de la música indígena, llevándola a diversos foros nacionales e internacionales, sin embargo, son principalmente las comunidades indígenas donde refrendan el valor y talento de los compositores de la región. 

P’urhembe cuenta con dos materiales discográficos bajo los apoyos de la Universidad Michoacana de San Nicolás de Hidalgo –UMSNH–, éstos se titulan: Sentimiento de un pueblo y Con aroma a nuriten; recopilaciones que pretenden difundir fielmente la pirekua, el son y el abajeño.
